Hi!

My name is Daniela. My work is fun, colorful, and infused with a sense of whimsy and childlike wonder that calls back to the cartoons and picture books of my childhood. I am an illustrator with a passion for story, and while my work is targeted toward children, it can be enjoyed by anyone. Making use of my love of animals, nature, and fantasy, I seek to nourish my own inner child and speak to those of others.

Using primarily digital media, I aim to create work that is bright and colorful. I focus heavily on rendering, using lines sparingly, to ground my fantastical and heavily stylized characters in some sense of reality. I like to create compositions that make your eyes dance as they swirl throughout a page to give the illusion that if you look long enough the characters might start to move. 

Growing up, Pokemon cards were my muse which I spent most of my days making my own “master copies” of with friends. When I wasn’t doing that, I spent my time creating art for other people, whether it be drawing their favorite animal or making their birthday cards. I make art for the me I was when I was a kid and for others like me. My ultimate goal is to be able to bring powerful stories to life so that they might find the people who deserve to hear them.
